We at Boxharry are committed to:
- complying with relevant environmental legislation
- continuously seeking to improve our environmental performance
- reducing pollution, emissions and waste
- reducing our use of all raw materials, energy and supplies
- raising awareness, encouraging participation and training employees in environmental matters
- the monitoring of progress and reviewing of environmental performance on an annual basis.
The Directors are responsible for the implementation of this policy and will make the necessary resources available to realise our corporate responsibilities.
We put our commitment into practice in the following ways:
- transport – we aim to minimise the use of cars for transport: over 80% of our staff walk/cycle or use public transport to get to work
- recycling – we recycle paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and printer cartridges. We are committed to the responsible disposal of electrical equipment
- minimising waste – we rent a water cooler for office use: the water bottles are recycled by the supplier, and we do not use disposable cups. We avoid printing of documents and emails wherever possible. One printer serves the entire office
- efficient use of water and energy – we always ensure electric lights switched off when not required, and that computers and electrical equipment are shut down when not in use
- use of biodegradable chemicals – we aim to use biodegradable products wherever possible
- minimising use of solvents and lead-based paints – we avoid the use of these products wherever possible.
